Spotlight Gala at The Historic Sidney Theatre: A Night at the Movies
Join us for a night of community and celebration of the arts at The Historic Sidney Theatre's Spotlight Gala “A Night at the Movies” on February 8th, 2025. Our inaugural flagship fundraiser will feature a cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, an elegant dinner catered by The Spot, and live performances of iconic film soundtrack songs that promise to transport attendees through the magic of the movies.
The Spotlight Gala aims to celebrate the arts community by honoring a dedicated individual who is an advocate and champion of artistic endeavors in Shelby County. This year, our Spotlight is on Judy Westerheide! A longtime fixture in the local arts community, Mrs. Westerheide’s involvement stretches over many organizations. She has served on the Board of Directors of Gateway Arts Council, Sidney Dance Company, and Amos Memorial Public Library, eventually serving as President on each respective Board. She was instrumental in the development of Raise the Roof for the Arts as a founding Board member and past President. Mrs. Westerheide has also served on the Board of the Community Foundation of Shelby County and as the Secretary of the YMCA Board of Directors. Her vast experience in the nonprofit sector led her to co-author a book titled The Board Member’s Guide which was used as the foundation for the Leadership Academy at Edison State Community College (now known as the Paul G. Duke Center for Leadership Development) where she was also a Board member.
We are honored to celebrate her invaluable contribution to the arts in Sidney and introduce the community to a celebration of the Theatre through this new fundraising endeavor. The Spotlight Gala is sure to be an event you won’t want to miss!
